The Portuguese Cork Association (APCOR) presented a new entrepreneurship project on December 6th in Santa Maria da Feira. Cork Empreende is a contest of ideas that want to promote the entrepreneurial spirit by awarding prizes of 30,000 euros for the six business ideas that stand out. The presentation ceremony was attended by the portuguese Secretary of State for Economic Affairs, João Neves, in order to launch this initiative and to support the creation of innovative companies related to the cork industry.
Through this project, each entrepreneur will have the opportunity to present their proposal and convince the industry businessmen through a pitch of three to five minutes. The goal is to involve the entire cork industry in presenting the best ideas through coaching and mentoring actions, that will allow possible partnerships between entrepreneurs and the sector businessmen. If a businessmen identify a business opportunity, they can help develop these ideas, either through a partnership, the exchange of knowledge and know-how or through investment in the idea and the future company.
