VALUING THE CORK OAK FOREST, CORK AND THE COMMUNITIES THAT GIVE IT LIFE

PROVERE 2030 is a program for the economic enhancement of endogenous resources, which aims to revitalize the territory where Montado de Sobro e Cortiça predominates, with the objective of promoting environmental sustainability, nature tourism, innovation in endogenous products—such as cork, the main resource extracted from Montado—and the development of local communities.

This project is supported by the European Structural Investment Fund (ESIF) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), under Portugal 2030 and Alentejo 2030, supported by a consortium of public, private, and associative partners and entities from the National Scientific and Technological System, ranging from local authorities to companies and research institutes, with the aim of creating jobs, attracting investment, and preserving this unique ecosystem that is the Montado.
