The Cork Oak Forest is set in the Ribatejo and Alentejo regions, spanning over 27 municipal councils and 15% of the regions’ combined territory, namely the area of the Lezíria do Tejo, Alentejo Central, Alto Alentejo, and Alentejo Litoral.
THE MONTADO IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER
As there is a wide road network connecting the Lisbon and Faro airports, Lisbon can be reached from any area of the Cork Oak Forest in less than 2 hours. While 700 thousand inhabitants live in an area stretching over 18 thousand km2, public services, general infrastructures and the majority of the population, are concentrated in the adjacent urban areas of Santarém, Évora and Beja.
