Another edition, another reminder that cork continues to inspire new ideas.
In the 9th Ideas and Creativity Competition, promoted by the Municipality of Coruche as part of the EEC PROVERE “Cork Oak Forest and Cork” initiative, students and creators challenged themselves to look at cork from a different perspective, transforming it into innovative, functional, and highly distinctive projects.
From fashion to product design, the entries demonstrated that cork has the potential to grow, reinvent itself, and surprise us in a wide range of contexts.
In the Cork Design and New Products category, the projects JOL.A, ROBOCORK, and ANIMASK claimed first, second, and third place, standing out for their creativity and for the new possibilities they present for the use of this resource, so deeply connected to our territory.
Congratulations to Clara Ferreira, Joana Garcez, and Laura Pereira, winners of this category, as well as to Mariana Guerreiro and Leonor Neves, who were awarded second and third place.
In the Fashion category, the winners were revealed on the runway during the SIM Festival – Sounds of the Cork Oak Forest. Oriri, by Ana Paula Oliveira, won first place, followed by Upupa Epops, by Lwe Pinto and Matilde Santos, and Entrelaçados no Tempo, by Pedro Andrade and Evelise Barradas.
To all participants, our sincere thanks for your dedication, creativity, and ability to keep finding new ways to showcase the value of cork and the Cork Oak Forest.
